Plesk: How To Upload Backup over 2GB using

Plesk is a great control panel for both Windows and Linux-based operating systems. You can easily manage your websites and their respective data.

When we talk about uploading a backup on Plesk, you can easily do that by navigating through some options on the interface. But here, you face a problem when trying to upload a backup of more than 2GB, it will not allow you. This happens because a limit of max 2GB has already been specified by the system.

So, what to do now?

Can you Upload Backup over 2GB using Plesk?

The answer is Yes, you can for sure upload a backup over 2GB but you will have to make a few changes in the PHP settings of your website on your Plesk panel. In order to do that, kindly follow the steps below.

Steps to follow

For both Windows and Linux operating systems,

  • Open up your Plesk control panel.
  • When on the dashboard, Go to Website & Domains.
  • Then go to the website for which you want to upload the backup.
  • Now, go to PHP Settings.
  • On the settings page, go to the “post_max_size” option.
  • Here, on the option just change the value or set it to the desired backup size.
  • Secondly, now on the same settings page go to the “upload_max_filesize” option.
  • Here, on the option just do the same and set the value to the desired backup size.
  • Now, go down and click on Apply.
  • All done, just refresh your browser, clear cache, and open your Plesk panel in a new window.
  • Now you can follow the same steps by going to Tools & Settings > Backup Manager and clicking Upload.
